Located in historical part of Zaraysk this small but very cozy and fascinating museum keeps the story of life and creative path of the first Russian female sculptor. Anna Semyonovna Golubkina is a bright representative of the Silver age art and culture.
She was Born and grew up in Zaraysk district of the Ryazan province in the family of farmers. At the age of 25 she went to Moscow to get education, and later became an apprentice of Auguste Rodin. Аnna became an outstanding master of portrait busts. Her hand sculptured artworks are filled with realistic and reflect the true human nature.
At present time in the house where she lived with her family a house-museum is open. Museum collection accounts for original photos, letters, artworks of Golubkina, including vase “Fog” and “portrait of Emperor Alexander II”.

In the Golubkina museum there are workshops and interesting lectures for children. The programme includes the life story of Anna Golubkina, the history of art and the long way of becoming a sculptor. Children are offered to create tiny sculptures with their own hands, to draw models and visit the modelling lessons. Every kid is given a certain task depending on personal hobbies and interests.
